2013 will be the last year for the Volvo C70 convertible, according to Volvo’s website which states that production will stop after this year. This isn’t too surprising, as the Swedish plant that produces the C70 was scheduled to close in 2013.

The Volvo C70 was originally a two-door coupe and soft-top convertible introduced in the US in 1998. The second generation of the C70, which debuted in 2006, was a hardtop convertible model with a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine.

Rumor has it that Volvo may eventually replace the C70 with a production version of the Volvo…

Volvo Debuts Non-Vanilla Concept Coupe

Well, now we know! Volvo has debuted a concept coupe that is a definite departure from their current design language. The elegant new Volvo Concept Coupé is the first of a series of three concept cars that reveal the design possibilities created by the company’s new Scalable Product Architecture.

The visual impact of the new proportions is most powerful when viewing the Volvo Concept Coupé from the side. The distance between the dashboard and the front axle is extended and the greenhouse has been moved slightly rearwards.

A low hood, roof, and the five-spoke, 21-inch wheels also contribute to…

Volvo Saved My Life

Each month, Volvo’s President and CEO John Maloney, selects a Volvo Saved My Life story to share during a company-wide meeting with the employees at Volvo. This month’s story comes from Steve C. and his Volvo XC60:

"While leaving work for lunch, I was hit by a large delivery van at an intersection of a freeway service road. The vehicle was traveling in excess of 45mph – it had ignored a stop sign and all the cars that were also stopped at the intersection. To this day I don’t know if the vehicle rolled or was just slammed…
